Licensed Insurance Agent

Tom was born on a dairy farm in Limestone County, Alabama.  He never liked the farm lifestyle, although he appreciates the many valuable lessons from growing up in the country.  After high school, he entered Auburn University’s Co-Operative Engineering program, and spent 5 years working at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center and studying Mechanical Engineering.  He received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and was working for NASA when we made our historic moon landing in 1969.  When the funding for NASA was drastically cut after the moon landing, Tom left NASA and joined IBM Corporation. He had many assignments in his 21 years at IBM.  Tom felt the call to use these experiences to assist his church as an administrator, and subsequently moved to Los Angeles to be an administrator to help acquire financial support to, and provide oversight for, starting new churches (33) in the former Soviet Union.  This provided valuable international relations experience.

In 2013, Tom became a licensed life/health/property/casualty insurance agent in California and began to explore how to learn and grow this business. After a few years, Tom and his wife Etta made the decision to move back to Alabama, to enjoy family and friends, and to focus on the Medicare population of the Tennessee Valley. (Tom also is licensed in Tennessee, Florida, California, Georgia, and Texas).  There was a delay in pursuing these goals by Etta’s endometrial cancer, surgery, and treatments and her subsequent death in January, 2023 from the recurrence of the cancer.

Tom’s various job experiences helped him to gain a tremendous understanding of how to help people.  His experience with his own Medicare Advantage policy and the lessons he learned by being his wife’s caregiver through her battle with cancer have heightened his desire to help others with their decisions about Medicare and how to best manage their health when they reach this part of their life.
